Grover Arrives!!!

At last, on a warm Summer's day in June of '04, Grover arrives!

My wife and I, along with her parents, sat on the porch, drinking coffee, and waited. We watched for any sign of the transport. It would be arriving any time...any time now...

Then, suddenly, we saw it! A big ol' transport came down the road and pulled up in front of the house!

There he was, Grover the Rover!

***********************************************************************************

I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel, but it wasn't to be, at least for a bit longer anyway.

The transport driver said he could not turn the Landy over to me until he had parked it in our driveway.

It was kind of scary watching him unload the Rover. The Landy was so narrow that it looked like it would run off the ramps at any time!

After he had driven the Landy into the drive and parked it we got to talking. Turns out that he was the one who transported Grover from his home in Florida to Ike's location in Indiana. He said that when he first transported Grover it didn't run. He had to winch the Landy onto the transport.

***********************************************************************************

YES!!!

Finally, after wanting a Land Rover for as long as I can remember, I have one! For those of you who might be wondering, the short, chubby guy next to Grover is me. As you can tell, we both could use an extreme makeover.

Well, till next time...

Cheers!

Looks to be a Dandy **LANDY**
I've been a Land Rover Test driver for the last ten years. Drove the Defender 90 in sub zero weather on 3rd shift the rag top version allows the windscreen to frost over a bit. But when you want to drive over anything it's the way to go.

Larry,
You definitely should do a website to chronicle your adventures with Grover. He is a beaut, and you are one step ahead of most people - your monster was running when you got it!!!
Cheers,
Matt (Landie62)
